12 Days Tour – Spiritual Ancient Culture of Sri Lanka

Day 1

From the airport we will transfer to Nagambu and enjoy the early morning at the fish market which specializes with fish drying at all sizes. Further on, we shall continue to the north while passing through the beautiful beaches of Marviliya. We will arrive at Vilpatu Park to have a Jeep track to look for the amazing animals living at the park, such as, tigers, elephants, and deers. We will be accommodated at Anuradhapura the first capital city of Sri Lanka, at a four star hotel.

Day 2

The tour will begin at one of the most important places to the Buddhism religion, the Buddha Tree, it is more then 2000 years old. The area is most sacred and well known to be a pilgrim zone for the Buddhist religion. The rest of the day we will enjoy a staggering view at Mintahala, the view is from an ancient temple where it is believed to be the place Buddhism was discovered. We will be accommodated at Anuradhapura in a four star hotel.

Day 3

We will begin our day visiting at the Quartz mountain and forest, which is on the from Dambula to Anuradhapura. There we will have an easy level track of two hours passing throw the magical forest that claims to the mountain. The mountain itself is all made of pink beautiful Quartz which is one of the biggest Quartz suppliers to the whole world. After the tour we will continue on to the second capital city of Sri Lanka, Pulunaruha to visit the amazing preserved 2500 year old water pools. Also the whole area is full of ancient wall drawings which describes the spiritual religion of the Buddhism. We will be accommodated at Havarna in a four star hotel next to a beautiful lake.

Day 4

The day will begin with an elephant tour in and near waters in the magical nature and continue on to Sigiriya to see one of the seventh world wonders, the Lion Fortress. The amazing fortress is lion shaped and made with staggering details, unfortunately only the lions giant feet remained well preserved. The tour will continue with a two hour Jeep track in the Mineriya nature reserve, which is well known for it’s amazing elephant herds, the many bird species, alligators, jackals, and more. We shall finish our day by having dinner and relaxing time at the hotel.

Day 5

Our day will begin with a road trip from a Dambula to Matala, there we will visit the garden spices and learn about the process of making different species. Also, we will observe a local short cocking to understand more about the local culture. Furthermore, we will have a peaceful three hour tour through the staggering spice and rice fields passing through a small village to witness a simple and spiritual life of the locals. We will be accommodated at Kandy where we will tour the city and the lake and stay at the Amaya Hills hotel.

Day 6

After breakfast we will have a walk in the beautiful forest surrounding the city. Furthermore, we will continue our tour to the botanic gardens of Paradiniya. There we will tour about an hour and visit also the amazing orchid pavilion. From there we shall continue to the famous ancient Tooth temple, which preserves one of the most religious items in the Buddhist culture. The rest of the tour we shall visit the local market, the precious stone museum and different amazing locations around the city, and finish with a magnificent traditional dance show. We will finish our day with dinner and free time at the hotel.

Day 7

The day will begin with a wonderful road trip on the way to Mahinagana and view the amazing UNESCO legacy Knuckles ridge. Upon arrival to Mahinagana we will visit the temple which is known as a place where Buddha himself visited thousands of years ago. We will continue to Havudha village to experience the local culture and join the locals to a tour in the forest to learn about traditional weapon making, fire, and medical herbs and plants. We will finish our day at Alla which is located at the heart of the mountains area in Sri Lanka.

Day 8

On this day we will enjoy the whole day around Alla tracking through Adams peek and visit the Ravana waterfalls. Also we will visit an amazing Hindu temple and finish our day with dinner and free time at the hotel, at Alla city.

Day 9

We will start the day with a road trip towards Nuwara Eliya, The well known British colonialism styled town and famous for it’s staggering tea fields. We will tour the city to see the local industry and visit a tea factory to learn more about the process of tae making. After the tour we will continue to Kitugala through Saint Clair waterfalls and have a rafting track in the Kalani river, it is considered a 2.5 degree difficulty. After the rafting we will finish our day with dinner and free time at the hotel which is located on the beaches of the Indian Ocean.
